About
Nichole Thompson is a graduate Flute Performance major at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin where she is a member of the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra. Nichole graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Music Performance as a recipient of the 2024 Presser Scholar. She has participated in the ARIA Academy, the Galway Festival, and the 2022 National Flute Association Collegiate Flute Choir. She is a two-time winner of Bradley’s Concerto-Aria Competition and has won a Chicago Flute Club masterclass competition to perform for Emma Gerstein. Nichole's principal flute teachers include Ebonee Thomas, Kyle Dzapo, Joyce Oakes, and Jungah Yoon.
In addition to Nichole's classical studies, she maintains an active social media presence with flute freestyle improvisations. Her freestyles have been recognized by artists including Jasmine Choi, Hans Zimmer, Lizzo, Lindsey Sterling, Black Violin, and Chloe Flower, as well as The Flute View Magazine, Black Entertainment TV, RapTv, CultureNBars, and Genius Media Company.
